Ever wonder why some songs can move you to tears, while others make you want to dance? Learn how your favorite music works in this hands-on intro to music theory! Using our instruments, we’ll explore the way that rhythm and harmony work together to make the music that you love.
For intermediate instrumentalists (comfortable with several major scales and proficient in reading traditional staff notation). No prior music theory training required! NYSSMA level 3+, age 12+ teens
Curriculum Overview:
An introduction to fundamentals of music theory with an emphasis on direct applications to performance. Students will participate using their instruments to develop both tactile and aural command of essential theory concepts.

Class Refund Policy
Classes should be paid in full at the time of registration. If a student needs to withdraw from a class, a partial refund may be issued within 2 weeks of the first class date.
