Sight-Singing Class

Level 1- Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm
Level 2- Thursdays from 7:15-8:15pm
* Level 1 & 2 combine from 7:15-7:30pm to practice singing rounds, part-work, and harmony together.

The Level 1 course is for individuals who seek to learn to read music and sight-sing. It will build musical skills through singing, reading, and writing a variety of notes and rhythms, in different keys and meters. This sight-singing class will follow a sequential curriculum utilizing solfège (“do, re, mi,” etc), to build and strengthen pitch and musicianship skills. Participants will explore a variety of rounds and folk songs to learn, sight-sing, and analyze. Beginners and participants with some previous musical experience are welcome. Come discover the joy of singing and reading music together!
The Level 2 course is for individuals who seek to learn to further their sight-singing skills and harmony skills. It will build strong musical skills through singing and reading notes in major and minor keys, as well as a variety of rhythms and meters. Participants will sight-sing in multiple parts with other participants, building their own strength in holding their part while others are singing different parts in harmony. The focus will be on a variety of choral repertoire sight-singing pieces and exercises, as well as ear training with different intervals and chords. Participants with previous musical experience are welcome (previous enrollment is Level 1 course is not required). Come discover the joy of singing and reading music together!

Class Refund Policy
Classes should be paid in full at the time of registration. If a student needs to withdraw from a class, a partial refund may be issued within 2 weeks of the first class date.
