This one-time virtual workshop is offered in our Spring 2021 term!

Piano Improvisation I – March 6 10:00am-11:30am
(8-11 years old) 20$

This workshop is for pianists with one year of private instruction. Beginning pianists will learn how to create their own melodies through games, exercises, and piano ensemble activities. As they learn to read music and improve their music-making, it’s just as important to know how to make music without just reading notes on a page. Students will build confidence in their own playing while learning how to make music with other pianists. Come play with us!

Piano Improvisation II – March 6th 12:30pm-2:20pm
(12-17 years old) $25

This workshop is for pianists with two or more years of private instruction. Piano Improvisation II will empower piano students to find even more elaborate and creative ways to improvise. Students will work with rhythmic baselines, patterns, and chord progressions as they create more interesting and beautiful melodies. Improvising will not only bring confidence to their overall performance, but it will give them an opportunity to make music with other students.
