Meagan Miller

Voice instruction

MEAGAN MILLER has an active international career as an orchestral soloist and operatic protagonist, especially in the music of Wagner and Strauss. Performances of diverse repertoire of many eras and in nine languages have taken her to important stages all over the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, the Vienna State Opera, and the New National Theater of Tokyo.

The Juilliard-trained soprano has recorded CDs of Beethoven, Brückner, Libby Larsen, and Strauss, and her most recent recording, the title role in the world premiere uncut recording of Cesar Franck’s opera, HULDA, dropped in Fall 2020 on the Naxos Label.

Meagan has collaborated with numerous living composers to premiere pieces written specifically for her voice, most notably Libby Larsen’s “Try Me, Good King: The Last Words of the Wives of Henry VIII,” settings of the dying letters and execution speeches of the ill-fated wives of the legendary British King.

A passionate advocate for the next generation and for avocational artists, Meagan has taught singers of all ages and diverse styles for more than 20 years. It is a special interest of hers to guide voices in transition: after childbirth, illness, repertoire changes, or trauma. She is an experienced lecturer, masterclass teacher, and stage director, and is fluent in German.

Meagan recently moved to the Finger Lakes Region from Vienna, Austria and makes her home with her husband, kids, cats, and chickens in Watkins Glen, NY.
