Reuben Foley

Violin instruction

Reuben Foley is a violinist, music educator and conductor. He has been the string orchestra teacher at Northeast Elementary School since 2022 and before that taught elementary and middle school orchestras in Northern Virginia. Reuben is passionate about the power of music education in children’s growth as young people, bringing enthusiastic and inquisitive energy to every lesson and rehearsal. He joined the faculty at Opus Ithaca in 2024.

Reuben is a section violinist with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra in the 2024-25 season and has performed with the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, Tri-Cities Opera Company, Opera Ithaca, the Skaneateles Festival Orchestra, the MostArts Festival Orchestra and others. As an event musician he has performed for weddings around the Finger Lakes and Northern Virginia area, as well as several events at the residence of the British Ambassador in Washington, DC.

Reuben graduated from Ithaca College in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Music Education and Performance. He studied with Susan Waterbury and Kirsten Marshall. He was concertmaster of the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra for two cycles and toured to Lincoln Center in NYC with the Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra.

Reuben currently lives in Brooktondale, NY with his fiancee and two cats.
