Gabriel Meza

Violin instruction

Violinist Gabriel Meza enjoys a varied career, performing as an orchestral musician, soloist, and chamber musician, while also teaching many talented aspiring artists. Gabriel currently serves as the Principal Second Violinist of the York Symphony and as a section violin member of the Harrisburg Symphony. He has held positions as the Assistant Concertmaster of the Annapolis Symphony and as a section violin member of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. He has appeared as soloist with the York Symphony, guest concertmaster of the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra, and has enjoyed representing the Annapolis Symphony in chamber music concerts. Gabriel graduated from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he studied with Mr. Keng-Yuen Tseng, earning Bachelors, Masters, and Graduate Performance Diploma degrees there. While at Peabody, he received top merit
scholarships for all his studies at the school, in addition to winning the first prize in the undergraduate violin competition. As a teacher, Gabriel has been a faculty member at the Annapolis Symphony Academy and Keystone Musical Arts Center, teaching extensively in person and through live online video. Gabriel has also been invited to give master class and recital presentations at Susquehanna University. As a teacher, Gabriel seeks to develop the highest level of excellence possible in each student through a challenging and encouraging atmosphere. He wishes to introduce his students to the same richly rewarding and enjoyable experiences of making music that have provided him with the motivation to strive for excellence in his own musical career.
