Ashley Bertram

Violin instruction

Ashley Bertram is a violinist and music educator. She teaches the elementary string orchestras at Enfield Elementary School, Beverly J. Martin Elementary School, and Cayuga Heights Elementary School. Previously she ran a private piano and violin studio with 14 elementary-aged students around Geneva, NY, with a focus on homeschooled students.

Ashley performed as the principal second violinist from 2019 to 2021 with the University of Rochester Chamber Orchestra. She was also the Concertmistress from 2022 to 2023 at the University of Rochester Symphony Orchestra. Notable performances include performing Jennifer Bellor’s 898 Hildegard orchestral premier in April 2022. She attended the String Intensive Summer Program in 2022 at MasterWorks Festival, a Christian performing arts organization.

Ashley holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from University of Rochester and a Master of Arts in Music Education from Eastman School of Music. Previous teachers include Shannon Nance, Todor Pelev, and Scott Hosfeld.

Ashley was born in Hong Kong SAR and spent her elementary school years in Shanghai, China. Later in life she moved to Idyllwild Arts Academy, CA, a boarding arts high school. She currently resides in Ithaca, NY with her husband.
