Teen Music Theory

Online Classes start February 4, 2021 (8 classes total)
This course is for students with prior musical experience of private instrumental/voice lessons and/or ensemble membership seeking to deepen their music theory, music literacy, and aural skills. This course will be tailored to the individual needs and goals of the participants. The curriculum from the fall semester course will continue to progress into the next winter/spring semester (prior fall semester enrollment not required for winter/spring enrollment). It will continue to build musical skills through singing, listening, reading, writing, and composing. Participants will learn and utilize solfège and study a variety of intervals, chords, scales, and keys. This course will include a variety of musical genres to explore and learn score analysis, part-writing, music history, music terminology, and more.
