Jayne Demakos

Piano and Harp Instruction

Jayne Demakos is harpist, pianist and certified music-thanatologist, certified by the Music-thanatology Association International. She holds a Piano Performance BA with continued studies in choral conducting from Ithaca College. Jayne served on the faculty of the Ithaca College School of Music, co-developing and teaching ‘Exploring Music as Medicine’ courses. Over the past 18 years, she has provided harp and voice at the bedside in healthcare settings, including Hospicare & Palliative Care Services in Tompkins and Cortland counties and in Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. Jayne is a founding faculty member of the Accorda Music-thanatology Institute and an entrepreneur with programs like GriefSong, and CompassionHarp. She is also a choir director and private music instructor, and has released three recordings, including Sacred Chant: A Small Offering (2022).
