Skyler Roswell teaches 6-12 instrumental and vocal music in the Groton Central School District in Groton, NY. In addition to leading band and choral ensembles, she also directs a jazz chamber ensemble and serves as the musical director for the annual musical production. Prior to returning to her home state of New York, she taught elementary instrumental and general music in Connecticut.
Ms. Roswell holds a Master’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Bachelor’s degree in Trombone Performance and Music Education with a concentration in Special Education from SUNY Potsdam. She has studied privately with Hal Reynolds, Mark Hartman, and Fred “Moe” Snyder, and has performed in master classes with Joe Alessi, Charlie Vernon, Scott Hartman, Michael Davis, and Mark Lawrence. She currently resides in Ithaca, NY, and plays first trombone in the Ithaca Community Band.
