Sarah Mbi began her journey with the piano at age six and has loved it ever since. Having five different teachers before high school sparked her lifelong fascination with different learning styles. She strives to teach each student as an individual while working to inspire both their creative and physical gifts. Teaching adults and children since 2002, she is a certified Suzuki piano teacher, a licensed early childhood Musikgarten instructor and has experience working with special needs students. Over the years, some of her favorite projects have been teaching living-history music camps and coaching student concerto and chamber music concerts. Sarah is on the faculty of the annual Colorado Suzuki Institute, has done research in hymnology at Oxford University, England, and is an active accompanist. She holds a BM in piano performance from Covenant College, and an MM in piano pedagogy and performance from George Mason University where she trained in Russian technique with Anna Balakerskaia. She is an active member of the MTNA and SAA.
