“At the Edge of the World”
Creative Ability Development Summer Camp
In this Creative Ability Development summer camp, we will use the building blocks of music to make musical structures. We will create fluid worlds, empty and full worlds, heavy worlds, and worlds that take flight, and experiment with bass lines, melodies, textures, and rhythms. Students will work in big groups and small groups, and we will be inviting special guests to add the the “map” of worlds we are creating, and we will create a soundtrack to a silent movie!
Dr. Sera Smolen and Jessica Caporizzo will be leading this Creative Ability Development and Musical Improvisation camp at the Opus Ithaca School of Music.
We will have a break for supervised outdoor playing and lunch. Please bring your musical instrument (pianos are at Opus).
