Kodály Musicianship Class
Fridays 4:30-5:15pm (45 minute class)
This beginner course will continue to build the foundation for musicianship skills and musical literacy for students prior to beginning private music lessons. It will focus on developing the singing voice, matching pitch, internalizing the beat, and experiencing musical comparatives such as: high vs. low, fast vs. slow, long vs. short, swaying (6/8) vs. marching (4/4) beats, and more. It will prepare students for reading and writing notes and rhythms through visual representation and kinesthetic movement. Students will differentiate between beat and rhythm and begin rhythm preparation of quarter note and eighth notes. Students will learn and listen to a variety of songs and instrumental pieces to guide the development of their musicianship skills.
Cost is $275 for 15 classes.
